Town Council to study joing H.P.-U.P. jail and dispatch facilites by Leslie Horn
The Highland Park Town Council met Monday and reviewed several different reports
regarding improvements for the town. The Council approed a plan of action that addressed
the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's report on Turtle Creek. It specifically
addresses the Wycliffe Ave. Dam and the Exall Lake Dam. The report deals with areas that might
pose a risk to people and property, outlining items that need attention.

Highland Park Senior Conducts Arts and Crafts Camp by Robert Collins
Elizabeth Williams, a Highland Park High School senior, used her summer to hold the first annual LidBit
Crafty Camp for 25 second-grade Circle of Support girls from the Martin Luther King Jr. Learning Center
in Dallas.
"I have always loved doing arts and crafts in the summer. I saw girls doing neighborhood camps and thought
that there must be a way to combine that idea with arts and crafts," Elizabeth said.
